Sam Hauff

Stones River National Battlefield

Fall 2024

Born and raised a proud New Yorker, Sam began his journey with public lands back in 2020. In 2021 Sam graduated from SUNY Cortland with his BA in history and in Spring 2024 Sam graduated with his MA in Public History.
Sam works currently at Stones River National Battlefield in TN as a Community Volunteer Ambassador (CVA) and this is Sam's 7th park! He worked previously as a CVA in Fredericksburg VA, as a Ranger in Gateway National Recreation Area, a facilities worker in Yellowstone, Volunteer at Stonewall National Monument, and an Eastern National employee at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Sam is into lots of public lands exploration but he also enjoyed playing tabletop game Warhammer 40k, video games such at Risk of Rain 2, and rock climbing at his local gym.
Sam hopes to become a Supervisory Park Ranger around the New York City area some day. For now, he looks forward to working with other CVAs and Stones River National Battlefield!
